Postgraduate Diploma in Global Health Research
General Regulations
- 1. The Divisional Board of Medical Sciences shall elect for the supervision of the course an Organising Committee. The Organising Committee will oversee teaching provision and will nominate Examiners for the Examination Board.
- 2. The Organising Committee shall arrange teaching, student supervision and assessments and shall appoint for each candidate an academic adviser.
- 3. Candidates may be permitted in certain circumstances to suspend status, for a maximum of four terms. Any such period shall not count as time on the Register of Students and no fee liability will be incurred during such periods. A student who suspends their studies may rejoin the course and complete modules the next time relevant module(s) are delivered.
Special Regulations
- 1. To be eligible for the award a student must have been on the Register of Students for a period of not less than four terms, and not more than eight terms.
- 2. Every candidate for a Postgraduate Diploma award will be required to do the following:
- (i) Study subjects specified in the Schedule;
- (ii) Satisfy the examiners in four assessments, one per term, according to the assessment details given in the course handbook to be published no later than Week 0 of each term.
- 3. Written assessments, including slides to accompany oral assessments, shall be submitted in electronic format via the University’s approved online submission platform. Oral assessments will take place online and will be recorded. The arrangements of the oral assessments will be specified in the course handbook. The format of each submission and the deadlines for submission shall be published in the course handbook no later than Week 0 of each term.
- 4. Candidates must pass each assessment in order to pass the examination overall.
- 5. Candidates who fail to satisfy the examiners in an assessment will be permitted to resubmit work in respect of the part or parts they have failed on not more than one occasion. The resubmission shall be made no later than four weeks from the date a candidate is notified of their result.
