(i) Minor changes to the role of the PVC (Education) and the Proctors in the examiner appointment process.

(ii) Major changes to the processes relating to examiner and assessor nomination and approval.

Certain provisions relating to the responsibilities of the PVC (Education) have been suspended from 1 September 2016 until Professor Sarah Whatmore takes up the post on 1 January 2017. The regulations will operate with the approval of the Proctors alone during this period. See the Education Committee notice in the 6 October 2016 University Gazette for further information.

Gazette 23 June 2016

At its Trinity Term 2016 meeting, Examinations Panel agreed that the requirement for standing orders for examiners to be submitted to the Proctors and to Education Committee should be removed, to reflect practice. The requirement for standing orders to be submitted to the Registrar (i.e. the Head of Examinations and Assessments, acting on behalf of the Registrar) remains.
