Undergraduate Certificate in Theological Studies
Differences from 2017/18 to 2023/24

1. The course shall consist of lectures, tutorials, seminars and/or classes on the subject of Theology. The course is available on a full-time basis, taken over a period of three terms, or on a part-time basis taken over a period of six terms.

2. Every candidate will be required to satisfy the examiners in written assignments or examination papers, format as specified in the course handbook, for six papers, to include:

At least oneEach of Papers A1ortoA2A4 from Part 1 of the Schedule for the Degree of Bachelor of Theology; ii. Two
Atfurther papers from Part 1 of the same Schedule, at least one ofA3whichormustA4be selected fromthe Part 1 schedule;iii.At least one ofPapers A5–A10fromtothe Part 1 schedule;ivA8.Three other papers from the Part 1 schedule.

The written work, videos and other recordings will be submitted via the
Department for Continuing EducationUniversity approved onlinesubmissionassessmentsystemplatform in accordance with the instructions in the course handbook. -

VideosFull-time students must submit orotherberecordingsexamined in at least two papers by the end of Hilary Full term, at least two papers by the end of Trinity Full term and the remainder by the Long Vacation submission deadline. Part-time students must submit or be examined in three papers in year 1 and three papers in year 2, with at least one paper by the end of Hilary Full term each year, at least one paper by the end of Trinity Full term each year and the remaining papers for the year by the Long Vacation submission deadline. The exact dates will besubmittedpublished inantheappropriatecourseelectronichandbookformat toat theExaminersbeginningforoftheeachCertificateacademicin Theological Studies, Rewley House, Wellington Square, Oxford for consideration by such dates as the examiners shall determine and shall notify candidatesyear. -
34. Candidates may beexpectedrequired to attend a viva voce examination at the end of the course. -
45. Candidates who fail to satisfy the examiners in the written work or the examinations under 2maywill be permitted to resubmit work in respect of the part or parts of the examination which they have failed, on not more than one occasion, which shall normally be within one year of the initial failure.
