The Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Education (part-time) is discontinued with effect from the end of the 2019/20 academic year.

1. Every candidate must follow for
fivethree terms a part-time course of instruction in Teacher Education approved by theGraduate StudiesAcademic Committee of the Department of Education. -
2. All candidates on the course will be required to complete
fourthree summatively assessed units of study and one formatively assessed residential unit.Two units are taught each academic year on an alternating basis. -
3. The Postgraduate Diploma shall be examined by means of
fourthree assignments relating to the content of each of thefourthree units.EachAssignmentsassignmentone and two must be between 4,000 and 5,000 words in length,orandtheirassignmentequivalentthree must be a maximum of 10,000 words in length. All word counts include tables, charts and diagrams and assignments must be written in accordance with guidance given in the unit.OneAssignmentselectroniconecopyand(in a software format available in the department)two must besubmitted onlineuploaded to theChairAssignments section ofExaminers, M.Sc in Teacher Education, c/o Department of Education, 15 Norham Gardens, Oxford OX2 6PY who will providethedigitalProfessionaladdress.ProgrammesTheWebLearndeadlinesitefor the submission of assignments will beby no later than noon on Monday of Week 1 of Hilary and Trinity terms respectively. Assignment three must be uploaded to the Assignments section of the Professional Programmes WebLearn site by no later than noon on the third Friday in September in the candidate’s first year of the course. -
4. Candidates who fail to satisfy the examiners in an assignment will be permitted to resubmit on one occasion only. The deadline for resubmission of
unitassignmentsassessmentsone and two will be noon on the Monday falling 14 weeks after the initial submission date, following the term in which the unit is taken. 5.Theawarddeadline for resubmission ofDistinctionassignmentwithinthree will be noon on Monday of week 1 of Hilary term in thePostgraduatefollowingDiplomaacademicis normally reserved for those candidates who receive distinction marks for at least two of the four assessed assignments, and over 60 for the other twoyear.
