Regulations for the Conduct of University Examinations: Part 18 Appeals Against Decisions of the Proctors and Examiners

Appeals from decisions under Parts 11, 12, 13, and 14

  • 18.1.

    • (1) A candidate who is dissatisfied with a decision made by the Proctors under Parts 11, 12, 13, or 14 above, may, or his or her college may, appeal against it in accordance with the procedures set out in this regulation.

    • (2) An appeal must be made within 14 days of the date of the Proctors' decision.

    • (3) Any such appeal must be made in writing to the Chair of the Education Committee.

    • (4) The appeal shall be determined expeditiously by the Chair or another member of the Committee, other than one of the Proctors, nominated by the Chair.

  • 18.2. Appeals from decisions of examiners shall be made in accordance with the Procedures for Handling Complaints (including Academic Appeals) laid down and published by the Proctors under section 20 of Statute IX and any Council Regulations made under that section and not otherwise.
