1. Candidates must follow a course of instruction over one year in the subject of diplomatic studies.

i. Four written papers
, each of three hours’ duration, one on each of the topics below:-
a) Diplomatic Practice

b) International Politics

c) International Trade and Finance
-
d) Public International Law

ii. A dissertation of not more than 15,000 words on a topic chosen by the candidate in consultation with the supervisor and approved by the examiners. The dissertation must be
delivereduploaded inhard copy and in electronic copy,a format to be prescribed in the course handbook, to theExaminersUniversityc/oapprovedtheonlineRegistry,assessmentDepartmentplatform.forSubmisionContinuingdeadlinesEducation,andWellingtoninformationSquare,areOxford by no later than noon on the first Fridaypublished inSeptember of the year in whichthe courseis undertakenhandbook.

The examiners may award a distinction to candidates for the Master of Studies. 5.maywill be permitted to resit the part or parts of the examination which they have failed on one further occasion only not later than one year after the initial attempt.
